About the Role

At Advanced Technology Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing expert-level break-fix and preventative maintenance on our industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform expert-level maintenance on industrial equipment, including observing devices in operation, identifying root causes of problems, and performing repairs and replacements.
  • Source and procure parts, supplies, and repair items as needed, and evaluate alternatives to improve cost and reliability of equipment.
  • Independently perform maintenance tasks in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Set up and operate machining operations, including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools, to make and repair parts.
  • Perform welding tasks and conform to customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes.
  • Document work performed in service reports, management systems, and written explanations of equipment performance data.
  • Provide assistance to lower-level technicians and leadership to project teams, and perform expert functions as part of training and development.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/hardware and configuration problems.
  • Utilize advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data, observe trends, and make recommendations.
  • Complete and conduct on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
  • Follow all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines, and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Associates degree with a Technical focus and 10 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 12 years of experience in specific industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems, with ability to analyze problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
  • Extensive travel required, with local, national, and international travel expected.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in condition-based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • Experience in programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
