Position Overview

The Clinical Transformation Educator plays a crucial role in evaluating, designing, and implementing training programs aimed at closing the educational and documentation gaps across various business lines. This position serves as a key resource and educator for Physician leadership, Administrative teams, Internal coding, Provider Network Management, Population Health, and Operational teams, focusing on enhancing accurate and comprehensive documentation and coding practices, driving strategic growth, and improving compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain educational initiatives regarding quality documentation and coding relevant to clinical, administrative, and support teams.
  • Lead the strategic vision for quality documentation and clinical transformation efforts.
  • Identify data and reporting requirements through effective communication with clinicians, administrators, and analysts.
  • Create and present reports, presentations, and visual data representations that summarize collaboration efforts and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Conduct presentations for clinicians and administrative personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with provider sites to identify solutions for specific needs or challenges and determine the necessary scope of investigation.
  • Engage with Health Plan Network physicians, managers, and clinical staff to pinpoint areas that could benefit from enhanced tools or system functionalities to optimize physician efficiency.
  • Utilize analytical reports to identify clinical departments that would gain from documentation and coding training sessions.
  • Analyze key performance indicators related to quality documentation.
  • Prepare presentations that synthesize and translate data into actionable information.
  • Provide coding support to formulate effective educational strategies and detailed translations.
  • Assist in the creation, preparation, and delivery of process flow documentation for all applications utilized in training, including claims processing systems and departmental workflows.
  • Identify external experts for inclusion in training programs to ensure consistent information and procedural training across all disciplines.
  • Support the development and upkeep of new coder training materials.
  • Facilitate training for new employees while ensuring ongoing education for current staff within the health plan.
  • Offer consultative support to clinical areas and recommend operational strategies to enhance documentation and coding accuracy.

Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based, with responsibilities including adherence to job-specific obligations and compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Qualifications

Minimum of one certification required:

- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

- or

- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)

Internet Requirements

Employees must provide a high-speed cable modem connection, with specific minimum requirements:

  • • 25 MBPS Upload
  • • 75 MBPS Download
  • • < 150 ms Ping
  • • < 30 ms Jitter

Computers must connect to the internet via Ethernet cable; Wi-Fi is not permitted unless utilizing a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) is required, along with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

Certifications

Certified Professional Coder - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC); Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - American Health Information Management Association.
