The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Technical Lead to oversee our software engineering efforts. Reporting directly to the CTO, this individual will be responsible for leading all aspects of software development, information security, and DevOps initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of high agency and a strong desire to build and innovate. This role will significantly impact Growth Signals' technical infrastructure and overall product.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a 'player-coach' by leading and contributing directly to software development.
- Lead a globally distributed engineering team, ensuring high productivity and collaboration across time zones.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to understand customer needs and translate them into innovative software solutions.
- Establish and enforce software best practices, including testing, documentation, scalability, and code review.
- Monitor application performance and ensure uptime.
- Collaborate with auditors for SOC2, ISO, and other information security and compliance audits, ensuring that our systems and processes meet the highest standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience as a software developer and manager.
- Exceptionally strong communication skills (written, verbal, and remote).
- Proficiency with frontend (e.g., React, Angular) and backend (e.g., FastAPI, Flask) frameworks.
- Experience with NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) and relational (e.g., Postgres) databases.
- Proven expertise with one or more cloud vendors (Azure, AWS, Google), including hands-on experience architecting and managing deployments.
- Expertise in modern DevOps practices (e.g., Containerization, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code).
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience building applications using large models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini).
- Experience designing systems that implement retrieval augmented and associated software landscape (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Cohere).
- Experience with serverless and highly scaling microservice architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Modal, Ray.io).
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and grow a team of engineers.
- Collaborative experience with Data Scientists and Engineers.
- Experience collaborating with enterprise IT teams as a startup partner to integrate with existing infrastructure while meeting security and compliance requirements.
Compensation
Salary: $250,000 - $350,000 per year, depending on experience.
