Position Summary

The ideal candidate will serve as a Senior Systems Engineer, providing essential Systems Engineering and Technical Support for our Zero Trust Implementation initiatives. This role involves collaborating with existing Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) capability teams to:

  • Define project requirements
  • Develop architectural frameworks
  • Create design documentation
  • Conduct technology assessments
  • Support risk mitigation evaluations

As a key contributor, you will leverage your technical expertise in industry standards and federal policies, while also maintaining comprehensive ICAM Zero Trust documentation, including:

  • Release notes
  • User guides
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Implementation plans

While this position does not require software development, a solid understanding of technologies such as REST, Oracle/MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, JSON, XML, Docker, AWS, Nifi, and Single Sign-On (OAuth and SAML) is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Researching technical topics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Authoring documentation on system components and advisory materials for ICAM installation and planning
  • Analyzing cloud security environments to identify capability gaps and enhancements
  • Defining implementation processes and hardware/software considerations
  • Assisting software developers with requirement tracking, sprint planning, design modifications, and testing support
Required Qualifications
  • Active high-level security clearance for accessing sensitive information
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
  • A minimum of 14 years of Systems Engineering experience (an additional 5 years may substitute for the degree)
  • Experience across multiple LCATs, ranging from Level 2 to 3
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex system integration challenges
  • Experience presenting to senior management
  • Knowledge of AWS, Spring Boot, Java, Git, and microservices is advantageous
  • Proven engineering experience in requirements analysis and system architecture development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Software Development, Test Engineers, and System Administration teams
  • Experience with SharePoint, Confluence, and JIRA
  • Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure, ISM, CAPCO, and CUI Standards is a plus
