POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES


The Advanced Clinical Dietitian collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that align with the patient's healthcare objectives.

Key responsibilities encompass the formulation and execution of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy in accordance with established standards of care and practice protocols; optimizing resource management in a cost-efficient manner; engaging in quality improvement initiatives; and upholding the professional competencies and skills essential for effective practice.

This role requires adherence to the accepted standards of dietetics and nutrition as endorsed by the American Dietetic Association, along with the policies of University Health System. It is vital to foster positive relationships with guests, patients, and professional colleagues.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related discipline is mandatory. A Master's degree in Nutrition or a related field is advantageous. A minimum of three years of relevant experience as a clinical dietitian is essential. Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is preferred.

LICENSURE

Candidates must be a Registered Dietitian as recognized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. A current license from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians is also required.
