POSITION OVERVIEW AND DUTIES
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for overseeing and implementing essential nutritional care activities for patients. This role upholds the standards of dietetics and nutrition as established by the American Dietetic Association, University Health, and departmental guidelines. Responsibilities include providing patient education, conducting comprehensive nutritional evaluations, and offering tailored recommendations based on clinical assessments or physician referrals. The position requires maintaining positive relationships with guests, patients, and healthcare professionals.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related discipline is mandatory, along with the completion of an accredited dietetic internship or a hospital dietetics program recognized by the American Dietetic Association.
Candidates must be Registered Dietitians with a preference for those who have three years of relevant clinical dietitian experience. Bilingual skills, particularly in English and Spanish, are advantageous.LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must hold a valid license issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians.
