Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Echo Technician Accreditation Specialist to join our team at Methodist Hospital. This individual will be responsible for planning, directing, and supervising all aspects of on-going cardiac echo and vascular imaging training for current staff members, future staff members, and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain all ongoing documentation to support and implement departmental accreditation for both the Cardiac Ultrasound and Vascular Labs.
  • Staff for routine patient care at the direction of the Director.
  • Train all staff and students to perform at a high level of competency.
  • Maintain all patient reports, including pulling previous reports/images, presenting images to the correct reading physician, and entering proper patient charges into the system.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological advances in the fields of echocardiography and vascular imaging.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support the mission and vision of Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times.
  • Understand and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules.
  • Adhere to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrate ethical behavior.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare field from a university or 10 years of clinical experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital setting directly working in the field of cardiac ultrasound/vascular imaging.
  • One year of experience must have included a responsible role for the teaching/training of students and/or new orientees.
  • Candidate must have completed coursework from an accredited echo-training program.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registry in adult echocardiography (RCDS) and/or pediatric echocardiography or vascular imaging.
  • CPR Certificate.
