Fluids Technical Design CAD Manager – Lunar Permanence Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Permanence business unit, you will be responsible for leading a team of technical designers in generating, integrating, and releasing CAD models of fluids and propulsion subsystems for our lunar vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of technical designers in the development of CAD models and ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs.
- Collaborate with the broader vehicle team to solve complex integrated lunar lander design optimization problems.
- Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse and inclusive team of technical designers.
- Develop and implement tools and processes to improve team capability and performance.
- Manage technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule, deliverables, and risks, and provide recommendations for change to program management.
- Communicate progress to leadership team through regular program management reviews, finance reviews, and project deep dives.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for leading and coaching employees.
- 10+ years of directly related experience in CAD modeling, mechanical and structural engineering principles, and project management.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience with aerospace vehicle design, CAD (Creo), Windchill PLM, and GD&T.
- Familiarity with agile project management, critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management, and Cost Account Management.
- Experience interviewing and hiring for technical roles.
