As a vital member of our esteemed Finance division, this position will act as a financial advisor for one of our key Therapeutic Areas (TA). The role encompasses financial oversight, forecasting, and performance evaluation for the TA, which includes budgeting, demand forecasting, and comprehensive financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating financial strategies for the designated Products while collaborating with General Management teams and various Finance departments.
  • Facilitate sales and demand forecasting by utilizing models that integrate data science and artificial intelligence, in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactively oversee performance to achieve financial targets. Identify and manage key financial drivers. Provide robust guidance and financial insight to General Management product teams and strategic projects.
  • Establish and uphold early warning systems for financial monitoring, ensuring timely alerts for all financial outcomes. Implement best practices to foster a high-performance, cross-functional culture across supported areas.
  • Contribute to the development of ongoing Product strategies, including launch and lifecycle management initiatives, as well as market access strategies as the market landscape evolves.
  • Lead or participate in TA and Finance ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all relevant compliance regulations (e.g., Code of Conduct, CIA, Data Privacy, SOX) and ensure adherence in all job functions. Guarantee accurate accounting of expense recognition for the business.

Role Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent 4-year degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance or economics, or 3+ years of relevant experience as an FDP at Novartis.
  • Exceptional business partnership skills; ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Proven influencing skills to collaborate with business leaders and drive results through data.
  • Leadership capabilities to take ownership and achieve outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to devise innovative solutions to address overarching challenges.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
  • Experience in Functional Business Planning & Analysis (BPA), ideally within the Pharmaceutical/Biotech sector.

Compensation and Benefits Overview: The compensation range for this role is expected to be between $136,800.00 and $205,200.00 annually. However, salary ranges are subject to adjustments based on market conditions. Final compensation will be determined by various factors, including geographical location, experience, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package may also include additional elements such as sign-on bonuses, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
