We are seeking a Senior Audit Manager specializing in Digital Currency Funds. Marcum is at the forefront of this innovative sector, delivering digital currency services to both domestic and international clientele. Our expertise ensures that digital currency and distributed ledger technology enterprises, ranging from startups to established firms, have their accounting, reporting, and tax compliance needs effectively managed and evaluated.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct audits, reviews, and compilations for clients across various sectors, including financial institutions, hedge funds, and broker-dealers.
  • Familiarity with SEC regulations, digital currency, and blockchain technology is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in financial services auditing.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting and reporting standards, with a focus on research related to accounting and audit matters.
  • Engage with Partners, Directors, and/or Senior Managers regarding work progress and client-related issues.
  • Stay informed about industry laws and regulations.
  • Oversee audit planning, execution, and reporting; prepare documentation, and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Supervise and mentor audit staff on a daily basis.
  • Monitor actual time spent on engagements and analyze discrepancies between actual and budgeted time.
  • Assume full responsibility for all aspects of the assurance engagement from planning to report issuance and binder closure.
  • Conduct technical research as necessary.
  • Communicate engagement requirements to clients.
  • Identify opportunities for extended services.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and team members.
  • Stay current on professional standards and pronouncements.
  • Participate in training programs for junior staff.
  • Actively engage in professional development initiatives, such as mentoring programs.
  • Provide coaching to staff members.
  • Contribute to practice development efforts (recommended).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, including overseeing, planning, and reviewing engagements; supervising staff, and interacting with clients in the digital currency or financial services sectors.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience within funds and/or financial services.
  • CPA certification.
  • Master's degree in Accounting.
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with SEC issuers under US GAAP.
  • Proficiency in software such as CCH ProSystem and Microsoft Office 365.
