Job Summary:

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This dynamic individual will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including patient assessment, vital sign collection, and medication administration. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, including vital sign collection, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Assist with patient transfers, including lifting, turning, and positioning.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a basic arrhythmia and recognition course and completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or completion of School of Nursing fundamentals required.
  • Minimum of six months experience as a patient care assistant, telemetry technician or unit secretary preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates competencies in fundamentals of patient care and knowledge of scope of practice for unlicensed healthcare team members.
  • Able to read, write legibly and speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality.
  • Use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Outlook, organization electronic medical record.
