Overview:

The Principal Architect is a key technologist who oversees the architecture and design of all digital properties for BayOne Solutions. This leader drives the technology vision and strategic roadmap for digital, working closely with business and technical stakeholders to bring the vision to life. The Principal Architect is responsible for developing architecture principles, standards, patterns, and solutions, and collaborates with Solutions Architects, Technology Leaders, and Business Leaders to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead architecture and design for complex programs spanning multiple teams across the organization.
  • Work closely with Product and Business Leaders to transform the Business Vision and Roadmap into a technical design that aligns with the product vision and future capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects across the organization and within the group to develop and refine architecture.
  • Provide technical oversight to the development process, including reviewing technical design and deployment architecture.
  • Architect and design Microservices Architecture-based solutions that are inherently secure, robust, scalable, and modular.
  • Mentor solution architects and technical leads to help build effective engineering practices.
  • Be the go-to expert for technical solutions to digital development teams.
  • Identify and introduce new technologies, patterns, and assess the impact of future technologies on existing architecture and solutions.
  • Provide architecture and technology leadership for building and deploying applications across multiple public clouds.
  • Lead architecture for digital marketing platforms leveraging owned and paid media advertising to engage customers.
  • Lead the personalization effort to effectively present relevant content to customers.
  • Develop the reference architecture for identity stitching, data cleansing, and standardization to help track a customer journey.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 12 years of experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 8 years of experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software architecture and design.
  • 4 years of experience in cloud services architecture, technical design, and implementations, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Experience in Retail, eCommerce, Order Management, Loyalty, Catalog Management, Headless Content Management Systems, Data Products, Media Collective, and GenAI is an advantage.
  • Experience with micro-services architecture, design patterns, and standard methodologies with an eye towards scale, automation, resiliency, high availability, and user experience.
  • Excellent understanding of architectural principles involved in SaaS and multi-tenant platforms.
  • Experience in cloud computing application implementations on Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of GenAI, LLM, AI & ML, Data Science is a plus.
  • Strong background in creating secure cloud architectures for customer-facing applications that are enterprise-grade and highly scalable.
  • Experience and knowledge of streaming technologies, NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Experience in Kubernetes, Java, Spring, SpringBoot, Jenkins, Python/Perl, Kafka, React, GraphQL, Security Vault framework, Redis/Varnish cache, and Spark is a plus.
  • Good understanding of Mobile/Web Technologies, UI Frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience in cloud logging methodologies for metrics, applications logging, and tracing is a plus.
  • Experience in DevOps culture is a plus.
  • Experience in emerging technologies like Machine Learning, voice, bots, and IOT is a plus.
  • Prior experience in Grocery Retail or Retail in general is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
