Critical Care Physician Associate

The Critical Care Physician Associate will collaborate closely with the medical team, including physicians, surgeons, residents, and nursing personnel, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).


Key Responsibilities:

Assist the critical care team in gathering thorough patient histories and conducting physical examinations; participate in daily rounds and contribute to the development and implementation of care plans in partnership with the ICU team; order, execute, and interpret bedside interventions, diagnostic assessments, and laboratory evaluations; provide education and guidance tailored to patient needs; engage in ongoing learning and teaching alongside ICU staff; take part in patient rounds and respond to nursing or acute care inquiries.


Qualifications:

Possession of a valid New York State license as a Physician Assistant or eligibility to obtain state licensure.

Educational Background:

Successful completion of a physician assistant training program that meets the licensure requirements set by the New York State Education Department and is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), along with national certification from the NCCPA.


A minimum of three years of experience in Critical Care is required, with preference given to candidates with backgrounds in Hospitalist, Cardiology, or Surgery.

Proficiency in the use and management of computer and information systems.

Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and Infection Control are mandatory.
