Advanced Cardiac Surgery Critical Care Provider

Position Overview:
The Advanced Practice Provider will engage in a full-time capacity delivering Critical Care oversight for patients in the Cardio-Pulmonary Intensive Care Unit and the Step-Down Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in comprehensive patient management.
- Execute and/or request specific surgical interventions, diagnostic tests, and examinations.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding and interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic results.
- Facilitate admissions from the Emergency Department, transfers from external facilities, and inpatient consultations.
Essential Critical Care Skills:
- Proficient in arterial line and central line placements, management of Swan-Ganz catheters, and knowledge of ECMO/Impella systems.
- Capable of managing inotropic medications, multiple intravenous drips, and ventilator settings.
Qualifications Required:
- New York State licensed/registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is mandatory.
- A Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies and current National Certification relevant to the clinical practice is also essential.
- Must possess an NPI number and be enrolled in Medicare with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) or be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within six months of hire.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in cardiac surgery critical care is required.- Current CPR-BLS and ACLS Certification is required at the time of appointment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Successful completion of pre-employment and credentialing clearances is necessary.

Work Schedule:
- Night shifts with rotating holidays and weekends.
Note to Candidates:
This position entails night shifts where the Advanced Practice Provider will be the sole in-house provider for the cardiac surgery service, with attending support available via phone.
