Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and perform physical exams in collaboration with the critical care team.
  • Participate in daily rounds and contribute to the development and execution of patient care plans.
  • Order, perform, and interpret bedside interventions, diagnostic procedures, and laboratory tests as needed.
  • Provide education and instruction to meet patient needs and engage in continuous learning and teaching with ICU staff.
  • Participate in patient rounds and respond to nursing or acute care calls in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Current New York State license as a Physician Assistant or ability to obtain state licensure.
  • Satisfactory completion of a program for the training of physician assistants approved by the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • National certification by the NCCPA.
  • Minimum of 3 years Critical Care experience, with experience in Hospitalist, Cardiology, or Surgery preferred.
  • Competence in computer/information systems use and management.
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and Infection Control certification.
