Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Compliance Officer to join our team at Holy Cross Health Fl. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, including The Joint Commission, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain continuous survey readiness through compliance with regulations and industry best practices.
  • Serve as Co-Safety Officer and oversee the Life Safety/Fire Safety Program.
  • Validate regulatory findings and collaborate with local and state fire officials, facilities managers, and construction teams to evaluate new codes and code changes.
  • Coordinate and monitor Fire and Life Safety program elements in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage the Interim Life Safety Management (ILSM) program and conduct Pre-Construction Risk Assessments to evaluate life safety deficiencies during construction and renovation projects.
  • Participate in testing, inspection, and repair activities of Life Safety Systems and serve as the Fire/Life Safety evaluator for the inspection process.
  • Coordinate and conduct Fire drills across the system, including development of scenarios, scheduling, and implementation of drills.
  • Prepare and present effective employee training on proper fire/life safety response procedures.
  • Collect deficiency information for Life Safety and disseminate summaries of countermeasures and results to the Environment of Care and Safety (EOC) committee.
  • Assist facilities/construction/vendor personnel with the evaluation of Life Safety drawings and provide recommendations for revision frequency.
  • Maintain Joint Commission required Statement of Conditions.
  • Participate in Life Safety and Environment of Care regulatory survey reviews with The Joint Commission, state/city fire marshals, state/CMS surveyors, and/or other regulatory bodies.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related healthcare field is preferred.
