At Capital One, we are evolving our 'Correspondence Manager' function, which has historically focused solely on delivering correspondence for credit card decisions. Our ambition is to broaden this scope and leverage our capabilities across various sectors within the organization. The new platform requires a Product Manager adept in both identifying whitespace opportunities and executing delivery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft a compelling product vision that delivers significant business value and simplifies access for our internal stakeholders.
  • Establish and uphold product roadmaps alongside an agile operational framework in collaboration with technology teams, ensuring efficiency and transparency.
  • Foster strong relationships and feedback mechanisms with stakeholders across the enterprise who influence product strategy, downstream processes, technology, and customer experiences.
  • Adapt from strategic planning to implementation, working closely with engineering, design, data science, and marketing teams to launch new products and features. Continuously monitor and assess product performance to uncover improvement and growth opportunities.

General Areas of Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with top-tier software engineers to design and sustain innovative capabilities that redefine how we manage correspondence for credit decisioning and other organizational use cases.
  • Deliver on critical high-visibility use cases for the platform.
  • Analyze consumer/client needs to inform a roadmap that generates value.
  • Prioritize resilience, performance, and cybersecurity within technology initiatives, including managing the Enterprise Tech Backlog (ETB) and adhering to data speed SLAs.
  • Communicate concerns, risks, and recommendations effectively; secure stakeholder buy-in; and share context and prioritization decisions transparently.
  • Define acceptance criteria and test cases, collaborating with relevant domain stakeholders to ensure comprehensive technology functionality.
  • Engage in shaping the overall fulfillment experience by leveraging insights from interconnected platforms and segments, transitioning from concepts to prototypes and scalable solutions.
  • Develop hypotheses, create MVPs, and conduct pilots to assess product and feature viability.
  • Contribute to thought leadership around platform development, focusing on the intersection of data, design, and technology to create meaningful business and customer value.
  • Collaborate with teams beyond the card platform organization.

Expected Proficiencies:

  • Human-Centered Approach: Lead customer discovery efforts to understand needs and drive long-term product vision.
  • Business Acumen: Own and prioritize the product roadmap to achieve business outcomes, defining KPIs and tracking performance.
  • Technology Insight: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of product integration within the larger ecosystem, anticipating impacts from business changes.
  • Transformational Leadership: Inspire teams and stakeholders to align with the product vision, mentoring talent and fostering a collaborative environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in digital product management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • 3+ years in Agile product management.
  • Experience in translating business strategy into consumer-facing digital products.

Compensation: This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
