Phil Long Subaru of Glenwood Springs is seeking an Automotive Sales Advisor and Finance Manager Assistant.

In the role of Automotive Sales Advisor and Finance Manager Assistant, you will be responsible for selling both new and pre-owned vehicles while meeting dealership profit, volume, and customer satisfaction benchmarks. Additionally, you will act as a backup for the Finance & Insurance (F&I) manager.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Advisor Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly vehicle sales targets.
  • Prepare complete sales orders and manage paperwork in line with dealership protocols.
  • Utilize dealership sales tracking and follow-up systems.
  • Participate in product and sales training sessions as directed by the sales manager.
  • Stay informed about new products and services in the automotive industry.
  • Maintain a follow-up system to encourage repeat and referral business, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage a prospecting system.
  • Conduct business ethically and professionally.
  • Address the transportation needs of new vehicle buyers.
  • Welcome and assist customers entering the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  • Guide customers in selecting vehicles by asking insightful questions and attentively listening to their responses.
  • Thoroughly explain product features, applications, and benefits to potential buyers.
  • Offer test drives to all interested customers, ensuring proper identification is obtained beforehand.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Set personal income goals aligned with dealership productivity standards and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Stay updated on new products, features, and accessories, and their advantages for customers.
  • Understand equity and values, and explain depreciation to customers effectively.
  • Ensure all closed deals are forwarded to the finance and insurance manager with complete documentation.
  • Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to their arrival.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's features, warranty, and necessary paperwork.
  • Introduce customers to service department staff to highlight the quality and efficiency of available services.
  • Follow up on all post-delivery tasks, including title work and special requests, to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Review and assess daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly actions to optimize time management and planning.
  • Attend sales meetings regularly.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

F&I Assistant Responsibilities

  • Safeguard gross profit by arranging financing to protect selling margins.
  • Generate additional revenue through the sale of vehicle service contracts, GAP coverage, and maintenance plans.
  • Handle all paperwork related to vehicle sales, including securing customer signatures and obtaining payoff and insurance details.
  • Convert cash transactions into financing deals.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with various finance sources, including manufacturers.
  • Process finance and lease deals accurately and fairly to secure approvals.
  • Manage all federal, state, and dealership paperwork associated with vehicle transactions.
  • Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting the vehicle and finance departments.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for vehicle sales and leases promptly and efficiently.
  • Verify all documentation for accuracy before forwarding to accounting.
  • Maintain a current state insurance license and complete any required continuing education.
  • Provide customers with comprehensive explanations of manufacturer and dealership service policies and procedures.
  • Assist in managing alternative finance source programs to ensure a variety of options are available.
  • Help maintain organized insurance files.
  • Collaborate with sales managers to ensure reasonable profit margins on every sale.
  • Ensure collection of all finance and insurance fees.
  • Process all credit applications.
  • Provide rate quotes when necessary.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of all required contracts and paperwork for finalizing vehicle sales.
  • Keep a clean and professional workspace.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in the automotive industry is required.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and other employees.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
