This role is pivotal in managing the reception, storage, and distribution of essential raw materials and components necessary for our electro-mechanical manufacturing processes. The Lead Materials Operations Manager will be tasked with maintaining optimal inventory levels and ensuring the prompt delivery of materials to facilitate smooth production workflows. Collaboration with Purchasing, Stockroom, Production teams, and various departments is crucial to guarantee that materials are readily available to fulfill production demands.

Key Responsibilities

Materials Oversight (Primary):

  • Establish and uphold inventory management systems and procedures.
  • Ensure the timely supply of materials to the production floor.
  • Oversee the logistics of incoming and outgoing materials across facilities.
  • Guarantee accurate and timely entries of materials into the ERP system.
  • Conduct routine inventory assessments and resolve discrepancies.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for effective material stock and storage.

Production Collaboration:

  • Engage with production and planning teams to ascertain material needs and ensure timely access.
  • Address material shortages or challenges that could disrupt production timelines and liaise with Purchasing.
  • Implement lean initiatives to enhance material management, Kitting processes, and systems (KPIs and Scheduling).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years' proven experience in a materials management role or similar within a manufacturing context.
  • Expertise in inventory management software and ERP systems is essential.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain management and inventory control methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Work Environment

  • This is a full-time position with potential for occasional overtime.
  • Work will be conducted in both office and warehouse/manufacturing settings.
