Job Summary:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to generate 3D CAD project documentation, including general arrangements, skid or module assemblies, fabrication details, piping layouts, and bills of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Generate 3D CAD project documentation, including general arrangements, skid or module assemblies, fabrication details, piping layouts, and bills of materials
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets project requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and technical reports
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement design standards and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve design and engineering processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in the water and wastewater treatment industry
  • Strong knowledge of CAD design software, including SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS Routing and Weldments add-ins
  • Strong understanding of drafting standards and practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
