Key Responsibilities- Lead and drive the safe and high-quality assembly of mechanical components on Engineered Equipment projects and standard products.
- Provide oversight, training, and technical coaching for the Mechanical Technicians.
- Track progress and communicate issues to engineering and management on a frequent basis.
- Perform mechanical component assembly as needed.
- Observe and enforce all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Track mechanical assembly on shop orders for reporting.
- Support assembly team through oversight, training, technical coaching, and raising issues encountered to managers, engineering, planning, etc.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics and lay out components for efficient assembly – diagnose errors in drawings and parts and lead efforts to correct.
- Ability to work in Kronos and SAP, and help other assemblers with these as needed.
- Read and understand production orders and bill of materials.
- Strict attention to details.
- Assist assemblers with shop orders as needed.
- Learn basics of the entire phase III operation to assist other facilitators as needed.
- Provide management with performance feedback on workforce and work processes.
- Communicate ideas for improvements in workforce performance as well as work flow processes.
- Active priority management of shop orders.
- Be an active team leader and contributor, share knowledge, absorb knowledge from others including constructive feedback.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing, fabrication, equipment maintenance or service, mechanical trade, or precision assembly experience.
- Experience with material handling and rigging equipment (industrial vehicles, cranes/hoists, etc).
- Ability to wear required PPE and operate all tools safely.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and lead/set an example for others.
- Certificate, diploma or degree in related vocational field.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to produce precise, high-quality work.
- Experience with precise PVC piping fabrication techniques.
- Previous experience in a leadership position in MTKA or elsewhere – foreman, facilitator, lead, etc.
