Job Description

Production Process Operator – Mill/ Blend/ Pack

We are seeking a skilled Process Technician to join our team at International Flavors & Fragrances in Madison, WI. As a Process Technician, you will be responsible for processing and packaging cultures produced at the Freeze Dry plant, mixing, blending, formulating, and packaging batches of raw ingredients and materials into finished products.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all quality systems, including ISO 9001, Food Safety GMP's, HACCP, FSSC 22000, NSF, and ICH Q7.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to all quality systems, including ISO 9001, Food Safety GMP's, HACCP, FSSC 22000, NSF, and ICH Q7.
  • Comply with all Company policies, including Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMP's, HAACP, and Attendance.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions to make the necessary adjustments in the production process.
  • Load and unload process equipment.
  • Recognize atypical/incorrect conditions in the production area and contact the appropriate authority.
  • Move raw materials, equipment, and final products throughout the plant.
  • Maintain accurate written records or logs of all production processes/equipment/maintenance/routine cleaning.
  • Assemble and disassemble production equipment as required by processes and Work Instructions.
  • Clean, sanitize, and sterilize all production/packaging equipment and other process areas in the plant.
  • Assist in maintaining process and non-process areas in compliance with current regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Successful work history and proven mechanical ability.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using percentages and decimals, and be able to utilize the metric system for measurement.
  • Ability to read, communicate, comprehend, and follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Basic understanding of computers to retrieve and enter data on a database, communicated via team pass down e-mails and to navigate the internet for safety training.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to fifty-five (55) pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and move throughout the plant; move and maneuver seven hundred fifty (750) pounds with mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, handle, and use manual dexterity to operate equipment controls.
  • Ability to differentiate changes in color, and detect problems with machinery and problems in the production process.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE and Respiratory protection, when required.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality assurance, quality control, costs, and site-specific quality programs such as GMP's, HACCP, FSSC 22000, NSF, and ICH.
