The Opportunity

We're seeking a highly skilled Business Risk and Controls Advisor Lead to join our Credit Card BRCA team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in promoting risk-awareness and the overall effectiveness of risk and compliance management programs.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Directing and overseeing multiple initiatives in support of Risk and/or regulatory compliance related initiatives
  • Applying a holistic understanding of Risk and regulatory compliance to business strategies and solutions
  • Responsible for first line of defense data analysis, report preparation and trend analysis, using business intelligence tools
  • Designing solutions for unanswered business questions and anticipating future business needs
  • Directing, organizing and overseeing action plans designed to enhance governance practices in alignment with Risk and compliance frameworks
  • Influencing and developing innovative solutions to mitigate Risk and prevent Risk exposures which result in significant business impacts
  • Leading the most complex projects involving cross-functional areas within the first line of defense
  • Defining and outlining new approaches to problem resolution and leading project teams from concept through implementation
  • Advising senior management on the status of their control environment related to Risk identification and control weaknesses
  • Identifying critical areas to monitor and escalating issues and findings to appropriate stakeholders
  • Serving as a primary resource to cross-functional team members and advising on Risk mitigation opportunities
  • Staying informed of changes to the regulatory environment to ensure proper compliance with processes and requirements are followed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4+ years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • 8+ years of experience supporting risk-related, compliance-related, or business control design activities; OR 8+ years of experience in a relevant quantitative discipline; OR Advanced degree or designation in a risk management or quantitative discipline, and 6+ years of experience supporting risk-related, and/or compliance-related, or business control design activities; OR PhD in a risk management or quantitative discipline, and 4+ years of experience supporting risk-related, and/or compliance-related, or business control design activities
  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, regulations, and applicable guidance to area supported for example: OCC Heightened Standards, BSA/AML, REG E, UDAAP/UDAP, TILA/REG Z, SCRA, FCRA, MLA
