Dean of the College of Health Sciences

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Western University of Health Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the College in its mission to produce health care professionals and biomedical knowledge that will enhance and extend the quality of life in our communities.

The Dean will oversee the College's academic programs, including the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Science in Health Sciences, Master of Science in Medical Sciences, and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. The Dean will also be responsible for the overall leadership of the College, including administration, finances, accreditation, faculty, staff, and students.

The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate and clinical experience in an appropriate Health Sciences field or related discipline. A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in academic administration at an institution of higher education is required. Preference will be given to individuals with teaching experience in a Health Sciences higher education environment, with evidence of service and scholarship.

The successful candidate will have progressive and broad administrative leadership experience as a current or former Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, and/or Chair of an academic unit at a college, university, academic health center, or similarly complex institution.

The qualities and qualifications of the successful individual will include effective communication skills, support for advocacy, a commitment to diversity, a commitment to an innovative vision for student and faculty research, student-centered learning in an environment where students can thrive, and a strong commitment to the health sciences.
