Job SummaryThe Project Manager will join the Project Execution Team in major natural gas pipeline integrity, retrofits, pipeline replacement, and pipeline hydrotest transmission projects and planning distribution work. The Project Manager will manage five or more complex projects for planning distribution work. This position will require the project manager to travel within the Southern California territory.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project scope, budget, timelines, and resources during the lifespan of the project.
- Provide management oversight across multiple simultaneous projects or project tracts within a Program.
- Operate in a business or technical environment, using analytical and evaluative techniques.
- Provide regular progress updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead and support the project forecasting, stakeholder communications, tracking and management of issues and risks, and project close-out.
- Develop, approve, and apply necessary process improvements to a workflow process for a project.
- Perform scenario development, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Drive towards continuous improvements in performance and ongoing.
- Own and deliver comprehensive project deliverables in a structured and punctual manner.
- Possess 8-14 years of Project Management work experience performed in a regulated utility industry.
- Planning transmission or distribution work experience.
- Minimum bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering University or relevant project and field experience.
- Possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations in an internal and client setting to various levels of stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Display strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work with a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage deliverables at all levels of the business structure from entry level to executive level management.
- Strong time management and organizational skills a must.
- Possess coachability, eager to learn with self-motivation and initiative.
- Proven aptitude and demonstrated experience for high volume, complex projects and program management.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in large-scale construction, engineering, or utility projects.
- Prior pipeline integrity planning experience is preferred, familiar with pipeline relocation, facility addition, and modification.
- Utility gas pipeline field experience in cathodic protection, construction, hydrotesting, installation, or other pertinent experience.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, land development plans, and engineering designs.
- Master's degree in engineering, MBA, Professional Engineer license, or graduate business training is highly desirable.
- Possess a PMP (Project Management Professional), Agile, or other Program Management certifications, training, and/or demonstrated experience.
- Ability to communicate mission, objectives, and safety philosophy in decision making and supervising the work of others.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Citrix.
- Familiarity with CFR 49 Parts 192 and 195.
