Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating and executing maintenance strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, evaluating and communicating their effects on maintenance operations and task management.
  • Effectively allocate maintenance tasks and minor projects to the appropriate personnel, ensuring efficient planning and execution.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure smooth site operations.
  • Coordinate internal and external work schedules to reduce downtime and enhance productivity.
  • Supervise the team to guarantee optimal machine availability.
  • Stay informed about ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Investigate root causes of issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Identify potential areas for organizational improvement.
  • Leverage internal and external technical expertise to maintain equipment availability.
  • Remain aware of any changes that could affect product and material availability, and communicate potential impacts promptly.
  • Oversee contractors on-site to ensure adherence to safety, legal, and company regulations.
  • Ensure departmental operations comply with health, safety, and environmental policies to prioritize the safety of staff and visitors.
  • Promote a culture of excellence by setting a strong example and ensuring all team members understand and uphold expected standards.
  • Guide the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Motivate and lead the team towards achieving operational success.
  • Oversee task completion and ensure high performance and accurate record-keeping.
  • Manage the Maintenance Department budget and explain any deviations.
  • Monitor the performance and development of a skilled maintenance team, ensuring they meet their objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support adherence to Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Encourage team cohesion and actively engage with the maintenance team.
  • Exhibit high motivation and the ability to inspire others.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred degree in manufacturing or engineering, with a minimum of five (5) years of management experience.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding.
  • Experience managing financial responsibilities related to maintenance functions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • TPM-based training is a plus.
  • Preferred certification in SMRP.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with Maximo is preferred.
  • CPMM certification is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
