About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our Cadet Core Intern Program at the Ohio Department of Public Safety. As a Cadet Core Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in traffic control and participate in OVI checkpoints
  • Support post operations, including maintaining equipment and performing maintenance duties
  • Participate in the Ride-A-Long program with a post mentor
  • Complete the Cadet Internship Manual to learn post operations and procedures
  • Assist field recruiters at public functions and events
  • Utilize personal computer and Microsoft Office software to perform various duties
  • Operate Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) terminal
Requirements
  • Be 18 years old to apply
  • Be in a freshman, sophomore, or junior status while enrolled in college
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 while employed
  • Be able to enter the Academy Class before reaching 40th birthday
  • Provide proof of grades and attendance each quarter and/or semester enrolled
