Job Title: Activities Coordinator

At Great Lakes Management, we are seeking a highly motivated and organized Activities Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate various events and activities for residents, including social events, recreational activities, and educational programs.
  • Assess resident's recreational and social needs and create a welcoming and engaging community for residents to enjoy.
  • Support the development of a monthly Activity Calendar of Events and research and recommend entertainment/educational speakers/church representatives, etc. that may enrich the activity schedule.
  • Coordinate transportation needs to outside events/programs in accordance with established policies and procedures and accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of Resident Assistants assigned to Memory Care and the Care Suites in the portion of their responsibilities that includes leading activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of event attendance and feedback.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event planning, or related field.
  • Experience in the Assisted Living and Memory Care industry.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to frequently perform tasks such as standing, sitting for extended periods of time, bending, squatting, moving, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects weighing 10-25 pounds.
  • Must be able to use hands and arms for simple grasping, pushing, and pulling in using supplies for activity programs.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and make self-understood in face-to-face interactions.
  • Must be able to see objects closely to read directions, instructions, warnings, etc.
  • Must be able to hear normal sounds and voices with some background noise to receive verbal instructions, answer telephones, communicate with others, etc.
Work Environment:
  • Works indoors in a climate-controlled environment majority of the time.
  • Works outdoors in elements of seasonal weather for periods of time to conduct field trips.
Working Hours:

Hours may be adjusted occasionally to meet programming needs. The work schedule and hours may vary from week to week.
