Nurse Residency Program in Labor and Delivery

The ChristianaCare Nurse Residency Program is a 26-week program that integrates educational components with preceptor-led clinical experiences in 4 areas of the Labor & Delivery unit: Labor & Delivery, Peri Op, OB High Risk, and Antenatal.
This program has been devised by the nurses in the Labor and Delivery department to provide a smooth transition into the L&D RN role for qualified candidates.
Upon successful program completion, participants will be hired as a staff nurse within the Labor and Delivery unit at ChristianaCare.
Nurse residents are required to pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware (or compact state) prior to starting position.
A commitment agreement to work at ChristianaCare will be signed, requiring completion of two years within the organization and 15 months of those two years on the unit of hire.
Individuals unable to fulfill this commitment will be charged $10,000.
Requirements- Graduating from an accredited nursing school before June 2025 (BSN preferred)
- BLS required
- Less than 12 months experience from the program's start date
- Delaware or Compact State licensure as a Registered Nurse
Submit a cover letter expressing interest in the Labor and Delivery Nurse Residency program, addressing it to Gina Scott.
Include a resume, unofficial transcript, and two clinical recommendations.
If minimum qualifications are met, a separate email will be sent for clinical instructors' information.
What to Expect After ApplicationCommunication from the Talent Acquisition Team regarding next steps, including video interviews and clinical references.
Applications will be reviewed by residency coordinators on December 27th.
Digital real-time interviews will begin the second week of February 2025.
Offers will be made beginning March 2025.
