Overview:
The Registered Nurse plays a pivotal role in supporting the Nurse Manager to foster leadership within the department, ensuring patient safety and enhancing the quality of patient care outcomes. This position includes oversight of unit operations and adherence to professional practice standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Nurse Manager in evaluating nursing staff performance and competencies.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and assessment of care standards for the unit and patient demographics.
  • Engage in coaching and mentoring staff, exemplifying effective communication and problem-solving skills while delivering direct patient care.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Specialists and Educators to address the educational needs of the unit, ensuring continuity of care for specific patient requirements.
  • Support the management of resources, ensuring equitable workload distribution and aligning provider competencies with patient needs.
  • Work alongside the Nurse Manager to identify and resolve operational, budgetary, patient, and personnel challenges.
  • Participate in the formulation, execution, and evaluation of patient care protocols, guidelines, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Essential Credentials:
    * Basic Life Support (BLS)
    * Registered Nurse (RN)
    * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    * Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)
    * Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
    * Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
    * Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Education:
    Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing.
    Required License/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), BLS certification, and any relevant certifications as per position level.
    Minimum Experience: 3 years in related clinical settings.
  • Additional Requirements:
    TNCC or ATCN, ENPC or PALS certification required within one year of hire. BLS certification must be obtained through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with a valid card prior to start date.
