Emergency Department Technician Advanced

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Technician Advanced to join our team at New London Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and operational support in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, including performing activities of daily living, obtaining clinical data, and utilizing universal precautions.
- Start intravenous lines with saline lock and administer intravenous fluid with a physician order, as well as perform intramuscular injections and deliver medications as allowed by NH Statewide Treatment Protocols.
- Apply splints and immobilizers, remove IVs after completion of competencies, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Restock patient rooms, supply carts, and equipment units, and assist visitors, volunteers, and patient family/friends.
- Mentor new coworkers to the unit and may assist in monitoring and/or caring for patients who require close observation.
- Perform administrative functions, including answering phones, faxing, and managing critical communication, and prioritize and multitask during periods of high stress.
- Manage patient health information and electronic medical records, and assist in transporting patients off the unit.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a chaotic environment.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and keyboarding skills.
- A high school graduate or equivalent required.
- National Registered (EMT-A) Emergency Medical Technician Advanced certification from the New Hampshire Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (NHBEMS) required.
- Basic Life Support (current) certification required.
