Job Summary

The Coordinator of Environmental Health & Safety will work independently to ensure regulatory compliance at the Waterbury and Danbury campuses. This includes administering safety programs, training employees, maintaining inventories, and conducting inspections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety programs to promote a healthy and safe environment
  • Train faculty and staff on various health and safety topics
  • Maintain safety data sheets and chemical inventory
  • Manage waste streams according to established protocols
  • Conduct inspections to promote safety and meet compliance requirements
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or a related field

Two years' experience in health & safety compliance in a laboratory or industrial setting

Knowledge of state and federal OSHA and EPA regulations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • CPR/AED/Narcan certification
  • Experience creating training materials
Salary and Benefits

$39.44 hourly
