Cardiac Sonographer Specialist

Join our team at Arkansas Heart Hospital as a Cardiac Sonographer, responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and accurate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform quality echocardiograms using 2-D, 3-D, Colorflow, pulsed- and continuous-wave Doppler.
- Assist physicians and nurses with transesophageal echocardiograms, ensuring probe care, sterilization, and safety.
- Evaluate each test and provide physicians with preliminary reports, exercising personal judgment regarding when to notify them of immediate test results.
- Order supplies within the Echo department, anticipating future needs, and stock necessary supplies for the Echo lab.
- Attend to weekly duties as designated and maintain accurate logs of all studies performed.
- Perform Point of Care procedures in a timely manner, documenting required information and complying with quality control standards.
- Associate of Science degree in diagnostic ultrasound or certificate of successful completion from an accredited school of cardiac ultrasound required.
- Registry-eligible required, with Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and/or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) in adult echocardiography preferred or required within six (6) months of employment.
- Current BLS certification within 90 days of employment or placement in position required, with ACLS required prior to participating in walk stress testing.
