Job Summary

The University of Arkansas System is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Cardiac Medical Sonographer-PRN to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing transthoracic, treadmill exercise, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms for medical interpretation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform transthoracic, exercise, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms on adult patients utilizing appropriate techniques.
  • Set up for and assist the physician or licensed provider with procedures and examinations.
  • Recognize distinct types of cardiac diseases and pathology, and immediately report critical findings to the reading cardiologist(s).
  • Administer contrast and document correctly as evidenced by quarterly performance improvement data.
  • Accurately complete billing and coding information for performed procedures, and document in EPIC based on CNL guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Sonography Program
  • Cardiac ultrasound experience, including treadmill and pharmacologic stress testing preferred
  • Prefer Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), must be registry eligible and complete registration within one year of employment
  • Current BLS required
