Job Summary

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Echo Technician to join our team. As a Cardiac Echo Technician, you will perform transthoracic, treadmill exercise, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms for medical interpretation. You will explain the procedure to patients, obtain medical histories, and ensure patient comfort during the test.

Responsibilities
  • Perform transthoracic, exercise, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms on adult patients utilizing appropriate techniques.
  • Set up for and assist the physician or licensed provider with procedures and examinations.
  • Recognize distinct types of cardiac diseases and pathology, and immediately report critical findings to the reading cardiologist(s).
  • Initiate IV access as needed, and administer contrast according to UAMS policies and procedures.
  • Accurately complete billing and coding information for performed procedures, and document in EPIC based on CNL guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Sonography Program
  • Cardiac ultrasound experience, including treadmill and pharmacologic stress testing preferred
  • Prefer Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), must be registry eligible
  • Current BLS required
