Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Technician IV to join our team. As an Engineering Technician IV, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Navy Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) and associated equipment, including Radar Acquisition Display System (RADS), Joint Debriefing Subsystem (JDS), Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS), and the Radio Interface Computer (RIC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain TCTS systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with mission coordinators and squadron operations personnel to ensure accurate data input and mission execution.
  • Verify all information received from squadrons is correct and accurately input into the mission display system.
  • Ensure all aircraft are tracking properly during missions.
  • Work with voice communications technicians to ensure good radio transmit and receive.
  • Assist Air Intercept Controllers and Range Training Officers with operating mission system computers as needed.
  • Document aircraft tracking anomalies and report them to the appropriate parties using the Pod Gripe Process.
  • Set up mission replays for aircrew to use for debriefing.
  • Enter mission data into Range Information Management System (RIMS).
  • Train lower-level mission operations personnel.
  • Assist Computer Operations Supervisor and Network Control Technicians with updating, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing mission systems equipment as appropriate.
  • Meet certifications and requirements for IAT Level 1.
  • Knowledgeable with proper handling of classified material.
  • Cross-trained and qualified to operate multiple TCTS systems.
  • Adhere to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including wearing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Notify lead, supervisor, or manager of all unsafe conditions.
  • Complete all assigned training, including monthly Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) training, government-assigned training, and all other non-recurring training as assigned.
  • Work schedules may require shifting to accommodate fleet readiness.
  • Act in the capacity of Computer Operations Supervisor when that person is not available.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Consistently produce quality products and services.
  • Complete all training within required timelines.
  • Perform all work in a safe and secure manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • College-level or formal training in computer science preferred.
  • Three years' experience in computer systems operation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft OS and Office Suites (Word, Excel, etc.) and standard desktop applications.
  • Unix/Linux experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN preferred.
  • Knowledge of military tactical aircraft training systems.
  • Prior military experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain current Network+ or Security+ and Operating System certification.
  • Ability to obtain an interim secret security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated secret security clearance.
  • Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access government worksites.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold/heat, etc.).
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet customer mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
