Department Overview
The Lundquist College of Business (LCB) is a prestigious institution recognized by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which signifies the highest standard of accreditation for business schools globally. LCB provides comprehensive educational opportunities at both undergraduate and graduate levels on the University of Oregon's main campus, as well as in Portland, OR, through specialized graduate programs.

The Sports Product Management program offers Master of Science degrees through both an 18-month Portland-based track and a 21-month Online option. These programs are designed to bridge the gap between the sports industry and aspiring professionals, leveraging the expertise of industry leaders to cultivate future innovators through hands-on learning that emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and a global business outlook. Instructors in the SPM program bring a wealth of academic knowledge and significant industry experience to the classroom.

This program operates on a cohort model, where students collaborate in teams tasked with the development, creation, and market introduction of a sports or outdoor product.

The curriculum encompasses the full spectrum of product development, featuring courses in branding, consumer behavior, human physiology, design thinking, product innovation, manufacturing processes, and market strategy.

The program is built upon three foundational principles: global perspective, sustainability, and innovation, which are integrated throughout the coursework.
Position Overview
The Lundquist College of Business, Sports Product Management Program, is actively seeking qualified candidates for Pro Tem Instructor roles as opportunities arise. These positions are temporary appointments that may be renewed for a maximum of three years, with the potential for extension beyond this period depending on program needs, available funding, and individual performance. Pro Tem faculty operate under the guidance of the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and/or the relevant department head.

All appointments are contingent upon funding availability. Compensation is determined based on qualifications and academic rank.

The LCB, Sports Product Management Program is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the following areas:
- Sports Product Branding
- Sports Product Design
- Product Development
- Supply Chain Management and Information Systems
- Other related business disciplines.

  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline
A bachelor's degree combined with substantial professional experience may be considered in exceptional cases.
