Position Overview

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a dedicated advanced practice clinician to enhance our critical care services within our established medical group. The ideal candidate, whether a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, should exhibit a high level of medical expertise, clinical proficiency, and sound judgment. Strong communication skills and a commitment to professional growth are essential as this role involves collaboration with our Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine team.

Core Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive history and physical assessments

- Document and analyze relevant clinical data (including labs, diagnostic tests, and progress notes)

- Execute orders under the guidance of a licensed physician

- Develop and implement treatment strategies for acute conditions in partnership with supervising physicians

- Monitor patient status and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as necessary

- Engage in multidisciplinary team rounds

- Maintain open communication with patients and their families regarding ongoing care and support

- Perform technical procedures as delegated by supervising physicians, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols

- Act as a resource for nursing staff and other healthcare team members

- Participate in educational initiatives, quality improvement projects, and staff training sessions

- Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions promptly

- Undertake additional duties as required

Qualifications

- Nurse Practitioners must possess a Master's degree in Adult Care Advanced Practice Nursing

- Physician Assistants must have completed an accredited Physician Assistant program and hold certification

- Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an NP/PA in the Commonwealth of Kentucky

- A minimum of one year of experience in inpatient medicine or intensive care is preferred
