We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Homeless Support Housing Coordinator to join our team at DESC. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals with complex needs, including severe mental illness and substance use disorders.

Job Description

As a Homeless Support Housing Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting residents with their daily needs, managing building operations, and coordinating services with clinical staff. Your primary goal will be to ensure the well-being and safety of our residents.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Interact with residents in common areas and provide emotional support as needed.
  • Coordinate services with clinical staff, including contacting outside service providers and facilitating activities.
  • Manage building operations, including security, maintenance, and facilities inspections.
  • Respond to emergencies and initiate action as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of significant events and resident activities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a basic understanding of homelessness and its challenges. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse staff members and clients. A BA degree in social or behavioral science is preferred, but not required.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and life insurance, as well as a retirement plan and paid time off. Other benefits include an Employee Assistance Program, Flexible Spending Account, ORCA card subsidy, and a generous room turnover policy.
