The Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) is a leading nonprofit organization in the state, with a 30-year history of developing innovative solutions to homelessness and advocating for housing justice.

We are seeking an Urban Support Services Coordinator to join our team at one of our Urban Rest Stops in Downtown Seattle. As an Urban Support Services Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the provision of clean, safe, and welcoming environments for individuals experiencing homelessness.

This is a unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office of Professional Employees International Union. The selected candidate will be responsible for scheduling appointments for daily use of the showers and laundry facilities, monitoring facility use, distributing personal care items, and enforcing rest stop rules and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at all times.
  • Schedule appointments for daily use of the showers and laundry facilities.
  • Monitor facility use and provide personal assistance when necessary.
  • Distribute personal care items as requested and when donations are available.
  • Enforce rest stop rules and procedures to ensure the safety and security of patrons and staff.

Administrative/Record Keeping:

  • Maintain a daily log of urban rest stop activities.
  • Restock and sort consumable and cleaning supplies.
  • Collect demographic and facility use information on rest stop patrons daily.

Cleaning:

  • Clean the urban rest stop in accordance with daily cleaning schedules.
  • Maintain a high level of facility cleanliness at all times.

Other Expectations:

  • Work cooperatively with the team leader, program coordinator, and volunteers to ensure the success of the urban rest stop.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in-service training events.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM. We offer a competitive salary range of $21.26-$27.55 per hour, depending on experience, as well as benefits such as medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and sick leave.

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of one year relevant experience, demonstrated verbal and written command of the English language, and ability to work effectively with diverse communities. Previous experience in social services or customer service is preferred.
