Middlebury College is seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our Advancement team as an Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Development. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position that offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the College's fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Fundraising and Engagement: Develop and execute a comprehensive annual giving strategy to cultivate and solicit leadership gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of the College.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, parents, and friends, to advance the College's fundraising goals.
- Travel and Events: Plan and execute extensive domestic travel to conduct 1:1 visits with prospects and volunteers, as well as manage and execute events to engage and solicit donors.
- Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and manage volunteer committees to fuel fundraising success and alumni connections.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate extensively with annual giving, major gifts, planned gifts, principal gifts, and the alumni office to develop successful prospect engagement, cultivation, and solicitation strategies.
- Knowledge and Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of Middlebury's priorities and be well-versed in its academic, co-curricular, and student life programming.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in development or related fields, such as fundraising, foundation giving, education development program stewardship, capital campaigns, or other fund solicitation roles.
- Skills: Ability to cultivate long-term relationships with donor prospects, operate effectively with flexibility, creativity, and discretion, and possess strong organizational and project management skills.
