Agriculture Resource Specialist/Projects Coordinator

About the Role:

The Vermont Association of Conservation Districts (VACD) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agriculture Resource Specialist/Projects Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the agricultural community in Addison County by providing outreach, education, technical assistance, and program navigation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of financial assistance programs provided by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, the US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service, and other funders.
  • Provide outreach, education, technical assistance, and program navigation services to farmers and forest land managers in Addison County.
  • Assist the Otter Creek Natural Resources Conservation District with needs assessments, community engagement initiatives, and project coordination.
  • Collaborate with a diversity of farmers, peers, and partner organizations to achieve program goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including farmers, landowners, and community groups.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of relevant on-the-job experience in agriculture, conservation, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently within a complex programmatic context.
  • Valid driver's license and insured motor vehicle to use for work.
  • Strong computer literacy in a range of software, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
