Overview:

The University of Richmond seeks a highly motivated professional to serve as the Director of Outreach and Engagement in the Office of Admission. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to recruit and engage underrepresented student populations, with a focus on creating a more inclusive and diverse campus community.

Salary: $47,154 - $62,483 annually

About the Job:

This exciting opportunity requires a candidate with a strong understanding of the selective college admission process, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of successfully recruiting and engaging students from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and enroll students from underrepresented populations
  • Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, high school counselors, and other stakeholders to support recruitment efforts
  • Collaborate with the Admission team to develop and implement programs and initiatives to increase diversity and inclusion on campus
  • Manage travel budget and plan and execute off-campus recruitment events, including college fairs, high school visits, and regional receptions
  • Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make recommendations for improvement
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives, and contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive work environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in college admission, with a focus on diversity and inclusion
  • Proven track record of successfully recruiting and engaging students from underrepresented populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvement
  • Familiarity with CRM software and other technology tools used in college admission
