Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant at Joint Implant Surgeons, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical team. Your primary responsibilities will include escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining and recording vital signs, and presenting patient history summaries to our providers. You will also assist with charting and documentation, writing prescriptions, and accessing outside EMR and imaging systems as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for medical procedures
Obtain and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
Present patient history summaries to our providers and alert them to any changes in patient medical status
Assist with charting and documentation, including posting charges and billing information
Write prescriptions and clinical orders, such as physical therapy and imaging studies
Access outside EMR and imaging systems for records and imaging as needed
Ensure proper documentation in the patient's chart or EMR

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Active Medical Assistant Certification
Understanding of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology
Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Physical requirements include frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and sitting
