Key Responsibilities- Partner with Amazon Worldwide Design Engineering teams to ensure new equipment and modifications to existing equipment comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and harmonized standards.
- Lead risk assessments and assist in the development and review of equipment designs to ensure safety and compliance.
- Provide guidance on requirements for controls and devices to ensure safe operation.
- Collaborate with various engineering, design, and operations teams to drive a systematic approach to address risk identification, mitigation, and management of safety solutions.
- Travel 25-50% of the time to support safety initiatives and collaborate with teams.
- 5+ years of program or project management experience in safety engineering.
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in safety engineering programs in manufacturing or production environments.
- Experience working within a global company with global or multi-country responsibilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of certification bodies for approvals that comply with local, national, and international regulations.
- Knowledge of international and EU/NA Standards such as EU Machinery Directive, ISO, ANSI, OSHA, NFPA.
- Masters degree in Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Distribution Center or Manufacturing experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees.
- CSME or other functional safety certification.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to changing demands, goals, timelines, and priorities.
- Ability to collaborate and lead in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
