Pulmonary Critical Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Position at Piedmont Henry Hospital

Job Summary:
Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a skilled Pulmonary Critical Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. As a member of our critical care team, you will assist in the management of critically ill patients in the hospital, applying specialized skills and knowledge related to ICU, CCU, and CVICU settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients within institutional guidelines and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards under the supervision of the patient's physician.
Obtains patient health histories and completes physical examinations, documenting findings in accordance with hospital requirements.
Orders and interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of procedures to patients, family, staff, and healthcare learners.
Performs approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient clinical status and documents procedures in accordance with hospital requirements.
Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and external cardiac massage, airway management, and administration of life-supporting drugs according to established protocols.
Interfaces patients with monitoring and instrumentation equipment, directing and educating others in performing the same functions.
Formulates and implements a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending backup physician(s), documenting in medical records and narrative summaries.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing, or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board.
Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia or Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP).
