Pulmonary Critical Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced APP to join our Pulmonary Critical Care team at Piedmont. As a critical care specialist, you will play a vital role in the management of critically ill patients in our hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of critically ill patients in the ICU, CCU, and CVICU settings.
- Contribute to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting, and leadership.
- Provide direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients within institutional guidelines and evidence-based clinical practice standards.
- Obtain patient health histories, complete physical examinations, and document findings in accordance with hospital requirements.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of procedures to patients, families, staff, and healthcare learners.
- Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient clinical status and document procedures in accordance with hospital requirements.
- Interface with patients and monitoring and instrumentation equipment, and direct and educate others in performing the same functions.
- Formulate and implement treatment plans for acute illness management in collaboration with primary supervising physicians and/or attending backup physicians.
- Support IRB-approved clinical research/trials through various activities, including obtaining consent and documenting and reporting patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research.
- Serve as a clinical expert and education consultant to nursing, healthcare teams, and the community.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing, or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a current license for the Georgia State Composite Board.
- OR Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP).
