Position Overview:
The University of Miami UHealth/SoLé Mia is set to deliver exceptional academic medicine to the surrounding communities. Key Responsibilities:
The Biomedical Technician 3 will engage in a variety of essential tasks, including:

  • Installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of sophisticated biomedical equipment.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to junior technicians and relevant subordinate staff.
  • Maintaining precise documentation of medical equipment.
  • Overseeing services from external vendors to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Staying informed about applicable regulatory agencies and the relevant policies, codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Inspecting incoming equipment for adherence to codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ordering necessary parts and supplies for medical equipment servicing.
  • Offering mentorship and training to fellow employees.
  • Acting as a resource for engineering and clinical staff regarding operational and maintenance procedures for clinical equipment.
  • Utilizing office automation hardware and software, along with diagnostic service software.
  • Updating the medical equipment technical library with new versions as they become available.
  • Adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures while safeguarding University assets.

Core Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • An Associate Degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of pertinent experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments.
  • The ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Discretion in processing and handling confidential information.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • A commitment to the University's core values.
  • The capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Any relevant education, certifications, and/or work experience may be considered.
