Job Summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly skilled Senior Subaward Negotiator to join the Office of Sponsored Projects. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in reviewing and negotiating outgoing subaward agreements and subcontracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently draft, review, and negotiate new subrecipient agreements of higher complexity, ensuring compliance with University policies, federal and state law, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with teams within the Office of Sponsored Projects and University offices to review and handle various contractual issues.
  • Communicate effectively with sponsors, contracting party legal offices, technical representatives, and University researchers to resolve contractual language issues.
  • Enter and maintain thorough and accurate documentation, data, and negotiation notes related to agreement and modification actions into UT Research Management Suite (UTRMS) and E-Share Repository.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in preparation, processing, and negotiation of contracts and/or grant administration experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local, and University guidelines and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with the use of MS Word and MS Excel software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate or professional degree in business administration, public administration, or law.
  • More than 4 years of experience in preparation, processing, and negotiation of research contracts or Research Administration.
  • Experience working with contract negotiation or contract interpretation, including drafting language and subsequent negotiation.
Working Conditions
