School Monitor

Under the supervision of school administrators, the School Monitor will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students on school grounds. This includes monitoring student behavior during lunch periods and recess, both indoors and outdoors, and intervening in situations where necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor student activities during lunch periods and recess to ensure appropriate behavior and safety.
- Direct students in the proper use of school equipment and facilities.
- Prevent and/or intervene in student arguments and fights.
- Intercept unfamiliar personnel on school grounds and request identification.
- Assist instructors in providing first aid to students and accompany injured students to the school nurse.
- Perform basic clerical and support duties, including providing library or office assistance.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and previous experience working with children. A valid Alaska driver's license is also required. Knowledge of children's games and outdoor sports is desired.
Working ConditionsThe School Monitor will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations is essential. The position requires standing for long periods and working in various weather conditions.
